The Organizations

The Colorado M.E.S.A. Initiative is a joint collaboration between the Alzheimer's Assocation Colorado Chapter and Senior Care of Colorado, P.C., fully funded by the Colorado Health Foundation.

Alzheimer's Association Colorado Chapter

The Alzheimer’s Association Colorado Chapter has resources headquartered in seven regions throughout the state of Colorado. We offer free services to Alzheimer’s patients and their families, including our 24-hour Helpline, family consultation and support groups, as well as education and training. We also administer the Medic Alert+Safe Return program for those at risk of wandering. As a physician, you can turn to us to relieve the unnecessary burden of providing this kind of assistance to your Alzheimer’s patients. We are happy to work with you to ensure the continuum of support and care for these families.

CHF Foundation Draft

The Colorado Health Foundation funded this program. We work to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation by increasing the number of Coloradans with health insurance, ensuring they have access to quality, coordinated care and encouraging healthy living.

The Foundation invests in the community through grants and initiatives to health-related nonprofits that focus on these goals, as well as by operating medical education programs to increase the health care workforce.

Senior Care of Colorado

Senior Care of Colorado, PC, was founded in 2001 by Michael Wasserman, M.D., and Donald Murphy, M.D., both board-certified geriatricians. Currently the largest practice of its kind in the nation, we employ more than 60 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants working together in an innovative team approach to delivering quality geriatric primary care services exclusively to senior patients throughout the Denver Metro/Front Range area and beyond. We have clinic locations in Denver, Aurora, Englewood, Westminster, Evergreen, and Centennial, and provide outreach in rural and mountain areas of Colorado and Wyoming. We also function as Medical Director and/or provide care in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, work in hospice, and provide in-home care.

We’ve learned a lot of things about the business of geriatric medicine the hard way. We’re committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate, personalized medical care to our patients and supporting their families and caregivers. We’ve developed effective clinical protocols and guidelines for managing Alzheimer’s and other challenging disease states. And what’s more, over the years, we’ve refined our business model so that we earn a fair and decent profit by properly documenting, coding, and billing for our work.
